Because Lego toys and the global warming cult are a natural fit?
In the First Lego League competitions, teams use Lego Mindstorms NXT robots, as well as Lego and Technic pieces, to design a robot and build attachments to complete assigned tasks. The robots must complete a set of specified tasks in 150 seconds, and the team must also complete a project based on the years First Lego League (FLL) theme. This year’s theme is Climate Connections, and the teams connected local climate-related problems to similar problems elsewhere in the world, and discover a new solution to the problem. The Global Warming Myth - Your 2008 Year-in-Review | Skeptics Global Warming
All in all, 2008 has been better for skeptics than warming alarmists. With cold temperatures blanketing the globe during the Winter of 2007 and so far in the Winter of 2008, and planetary temperatures continuing their fall from their most recent high in 1998 even as greenhouse gas emissions rise, the evidence against anthropogenic sources of global warming mounts.FPL's efforts to conserve power usage sparks battle - Breaking News - MiamiHerald.com
Some of these actions are cheaper than others. Eckels paid $43,000 for the solar system in her home just south of downtown Fort Lauderdale. For that, she will get a $2,000 credit on her federal income taxes. She hopes to get a rebate of $20,000 from the state if new funding is provided for a solar program. From page 131 of "Beyond Fossil Fools":

Helped by new regulations, Eckels participates in net metering, in which she gets credit from FPL for solar power she feeds to the grid that's equal to the rate that utilities receive from customers.
So far, Eckels is not part of a mass movement. Only 176 of FPL's 4.5 million customers have signed up for net meeting this year. Still, that's up from 27 in 2006 and 87 in 2007.
Producing photovoltaic panels requires considerable energy. Surprisingly, it takes approximately three years of electricity generated from a photovoltaic system to break even with the electrical energy required to produce it. Then there is the problem of safely disposing of some nasty materials when the cells are no longer functional. And do people take fossil-fueled trips to deliver, install and maintain these panels?
