Canada: Cold Weather around until at least the New Year
Yesterday was officially the first day of winter and it resulted in a record low temperature in Fort St. John.MyFox Kansas City | Burst Pipe Ruins Homeless Families' Christmas Gifts
Officially we got to minus 37 point five degrees breaking the old December 21st record set in 1989 by 4 degrees.
It was the third straight day with an overnight low, below minus 30 degrees and, if the forecast is accurate the next three days will be the same.
In fact, Environment Canada's John McIntyre says, there's no reason to assume we'll get back to seasonal norms this year...
The cold weather is wreaking havoc on area plumbing and now an organization that helps homeless families is in need of help after a pipe burst.
Ten families who live at the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter woke up Monday morning to rushing water ruining their clothing, their shoes and almost everything they owned, including their Christmas gifts.
