Do the dogs of Los Angeles believe in Gore's scam?
Officials from Los Angeles County shelters have asked for the public's assistance during the cold weather, in providing warm blankets, towels and bedding for dogs in the city shelters, who otherwise would be sleeping on cold cement, even in the coldest of the winter months.
Alarmist Ben Bova: It’s [allegedly] best to prepare for the worst on global warming
My recent column about global warming elicited a lot of response from readers. Many of them were unhappy with my statement that global warming is real, and we ought to do as much as we can to alleviate it.

The issue’s become highly politicized, especially since Al Gore’s book and film, “An Inconvenient Truth.” People who disagree with Gore politically tend to discount the very idea that the world’s climate is warming, apparently just because Gore is pushing the notion.

Assertions and accusations are not facts. Wishful thinking or political opposition are not measurements. OK, I don’t much like Al Gore either, but his exaggerations about global warming don’t mean that the globe isn’t warming.

If man-made emissions of greenhouse gases are a critical factor in global warming, that’s good news! If we’re the cause we can do something about it.

Geological studies have shown that Earth’s climate has changed drastically in the past. This planet has seen ice ages where half the world’s surface is covered with glaciers more than a mile thick. Our Earth has also gone through warm periods when palm trees grew in the Arctic.

Will we be able to feed and house more than 6 billion people if much of our crop land turns to desert? And most coastal cities are flooded? And our electrical power grid collapses?
