Fossil of the Day: December 10
1st Place: GERMANY
Germany takes first place (specifically Chancellor Merkel) for "catastrophic deterioration" in its position on the EU climate and energy package.

Privately, officials indicate that Germany is now advocating for a formula-based approach that would result in 100% free allocations in the emissions trading scheme for ALL energy-intensive industries. Germany is also apparently now dropping its demand for approximately 100% auctioning of permits in the power sector, and instead advocating a much weaker approach which would allow for some free allocations for new power plants.
Climate alarmists use the same strategy as Enron: Hide the data, repeat the mantra, act arrogantly, and include opposing constituencies in the profits
[4.5 minute video at above link] Dr. Jay Lehr gave this talk at this year's International Conference on Climate Change.
