Hot Air » Blog Archive » Global warming arrives in Minnesota
For the record, our below-zero days usually come in January and February, not December. It looks as though we will have a second long, cold winter in a row. That’s what makes this report from the AP so ludicrous...
Bonjour, Barack: French Idiot Urges U.S. Climate Crackdown
On this day when President-elect Barack Obama rolled out more of his energy and environment cabinet picks, readers may be forgiven for having an out-of-body-politic experience. Is this really the future of U.S. policy?

And in keeping with the theme of changes afoot, about 100 people gathered (in Houston, no less!) to listen to what Brice Lalonde, France’s special ambassador for climate change, had to say. To repeat: People in the U.S. energy capital gathered to pick up wisdom from the French.

One piece of wisdom: We need better movies. We all need to feel better about cutting carbon-dioxide output and the silver screen can help. “We don’t have any nice movies about what it will be like to live tomorrow without putting carbon in the air. That is a problem,” he said. There is no optimism about the future to ennoble sacrifices today. It’s all “doomsday” blockbusters. (Remember that documentary by a certain former U.S. vice president?)
