It’s cold out. Global warming must be a hoax! | The Twin Cities Daily Liberal - "Kat" weighs in
And in all reality, as learned in my Global Climates class a few years ago, Global-Warming really is not ONLY warming. It is extremes on both ends. Hotter, stormier summers followed by colder, snowier winters. Silly righties.
How Humans Dealt With Climate Change – A look back from 2058
As global cooling replaced warming, the flawed AGW theory was rejected in favor of more research into natural climate variability and planning so humans could adapt to climate change.

During concerns about late 20th century “global warming” few asked the questions, “What should Earth’s global temperature be?” and “How do you measure global temperature with sufficient accuracy to know what it is?” Had these two questions been seriously considered, it is unlikely that efforts to postulate a human cause for such shifts would have succeeded.

Humanity learned a valuable lesson in humility as it’s understanding of natural climate change matured and we became better prepared for inevitable climate changes. [Via Heliogenic Climate Change]
World Climate Report » Christmas Snow Job
Here’s a Christmas present for all greenhouse skeptics … three scientists from the meteorology program at Northern Illinois University collected data on the 241 largest snowstorms in the eastern two-thirds of the United States over the period 1950-2000. As seen in Figure 2, there is considerable variability in the number of large storms, but no trend whatsoever.
Tax breaks for wind power irk some
Jody Wiser is tilting at windmills.

While other Portland greenies and politicians are going gaga for wind power, the former Irvington Elementary School teacher argues the state is throwing away tax breaks to lure windmills that provide few permanent jobs and would locate here anyway.

This is an astounding trick that’s being played on taxpayers,” said Wiser, volunteer leader of the group Tax Fairness Oregon.
Kulongoski says OSU professor will fight global warming
Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski has praised the choice of Oregon State University professor Jane Lubchenco to head the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, saying she will bolster the fight against global warming.

Ironically, Kulongoski issued the statement praising President-elect Barack Obama's nomination of Lubchenco on Sunday at the height of the most severe Pacific Northwest winter storm in a decade. [Via Planet Gore]
