New Holden is taxpayers' not-so-green machine
THE Rudd Government will give Holden $149 million of taxpayer funds earmarked for innovative "green" cars to help it build a car that will drink twice the fuel and emit twice the greenhouse gases of the most fuel-efficient vehicles already on the road.

The Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, flew to Adelaide yesterday to join Holden's managing director, Mark Reuss, to announce the car maker would start building a four-cylinder car at its Elizabeth factory alongside its Commodore production line from 2010.
