Seattle-Tacoma International Airport remained open as of Saturday evening, recording a low temperature of 14 degrees Saturday afternoon, tying the record low set in 1990.

ABBOTSFORD - An elderly Abbotsford woman was found frozen outside her Marshall Road home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday as the Fraser Valley was again gripped by excessively cold temperatures.

Police have yet to determine whether the woman was killed by the cold or died of other causes, such as exhaustion from shoveling snow, before she could get indoors.

The death comes as metropolitan Vancouver was hit by record low temperatures with the -15.2 degrees celsius recorded at YVR being the coldest overnight temperature in forty years.

BEIJING, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Snow and freezing weather have swept large parts of northern China causing, travel chaos for thousands, state media and the meteorological department said on Sunday.

In Beijing's neighbouring city of Tianjin, all flights were cancelled at the Binhai International Airport due to heavy snow, which also sealed off road and rail links, state television said.
