AGW Today: Believers Must Stop Using The Interwebz : Stop The ACLU
I guess they are calling AGW the “environmental impact” now. Kinda like how they call the lifestyle the 15 people who actually live the life they think everyone else should in order to be “carbon neutral” “going green.” Strange, since plants, plankton, and basically “the environment” needs CO2 to sustain life.Coldest day for three years - Evening Star 24
So, I guess it is time for all the Believers to walk the talk and give up their Internet connections. Yeah, that’ll happen! Most of them believe that it is the other guy, or the government, or Big (insert industry here) that should “do something.” I applaud the 15 Believers (double Randi Rhodes’ listener-ship) who actually live the life.
FREEZING temperatures recorded in Suffolk on Saturday led to it being declared the coldest day in the county for three years.East African Business Week - Uganda manufacturers say quality of power is poor
With the mercury not rising above -2C all day, January 10 became the chilliest day since December 29, 2005, according to weather experts.
KAMPALA, UGANDA - Members of the powerful Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) have said whereas an increase in power generation last year significantly reduced load shedding, the quality of the available power is poor.
Following years of load shedding that was brought on by deficits in the country's hydro power supply; last year government addressed the short term energy challenges by increasing thermal power generation to 100 MW to take the country's generation capacity to over 250MW.
While this cut load shedding from 12 hours a day a year ago to like once in a week or none at all today, manufacturers say the poor quality of the power, which is brought on by power thefts and system losses, needs to improve.
As it is, the intermittent nature of power supply crushes expensive industrial mortars, other equipment and production lines - costing industrialists a lot in replacements. Today, many manufacturers have resorted to actually running their installations on personal generators as opposed to grid power even now that it is available 90% of the time.
