Physical and biological consequences of these changes include altered bird migration patterns and that most inland lakes aren't ice covered as long as they used to be. Crop residue breaks down faster than it used to and soil is warm later into the fall. The outdoor construction season has been extended and there has been a change in the overwinter survival of insects and disease. There are more freeze and thaw cycles. Patient loads are also up because people are exposed to molds and allegerns longer in the season.

As a consequence of these climate changes, lake temperatures are warming, there is increased stress on livestock and demand for air conditioning is up.
