Czechs to donate artifact mocking Klaus to Brussels - press - ČeskéNoviny.cz
Prague - The Czech Republic will donate an artifact mocking Czech President Vaclav Klaus to the European Union within its six-month EU presidency that started on January 1, the daily Lidove noviny (LN) reports, referring to the project documentation.

The paper writes that the work of art is a giant puzzle of an original map of Europe created by Czech sculptor David Cerny along with another 26 European artists each of whom has made his/her vision of the native country. It will decorate the atrium of the Council of Ministers' seat in Brussels during the Czech presidency in the first half of 2009..

In the puzzle, Cerny depicted the Czech Republic as a blue country that is "intoxicated by its head of state" (Klaus) with a display in the middle where Klaus's controversial statements, for instance those challenging the global warming theory, are shown, LN notes.
