Health Blog : Chilled Inaugural Crowds Visit Medical Tents
The Washington Post reports that cold weather was at the root of most of the problems. Yesterday’s high temp recorded at Reagan National Airport at 2:28 p.m. was 30F (12 degrees below normal), according to data from the National Weather Service.

Hundreds of people visited 56 tents and warming stations with cold feet, dehydration or chronic conditions such as asthma that were exacerbated by the cold, according to the newspaper.

Following a bright, airy opus, perfect for the crisp, clear day and evocative of the first great American composer, Aaron Copland, played by YoYo Mah, Itzhak Perlman and Gabriela Montero – my favourite part of the inauguration – Obama equated the nuclear threat from Iran and elsewhere with the “the spectre of a warming planet.”

Really? That sounds a lot like something Al Gore might have said and he is hardly a unifying leader.
