Jennifer Marohasy » Global Warming Unlikely Reason for Slow Coral Growth
Having followed GBR issues for many years I was surprised to hear global warming associated with slow coral growth rates, indeed AIMS’s researchers Janice Lough and David Barnes have published detailed studies concluding that coral growth rates increase significantly with an increase in annual average sea surface temperature [2]. Furthermore growth rates actually decrease from north to south along the GBR as this corresponds with a cooling temperature gradient of 2-3 degrees C.Rabid Sanity: The Truth about Global Warming
If there has been a slowing in growth rates of coral over the last nearly 20 years, as suggested by this new research, a most obvious question for me would be: Have GBR waters cooled?
Okay, Global Warming is no longer the term of choice, mainly because it is not happening, but the Huffington Post has an article that is dead on with everything that I know scientifically and historically in showing that the whole "climate change" movement is a hoax. One of the observations made by the author, is that solar activity may have not only an effect on temperatures, but may have an effect on volcanic activity. Couple this with the recent earthquake storms, and we have the possibility of a true natural disaster if the Yellowstone caldera should suddenly erupt.Questions that need to be answered on energy and global warming - The Star
The questions I see are:
- why was the world hotter 700 years ago in the 'Medieval warm Period'?
- why is Greenland called Greenland?
- have sun spots and solar activity got anything to do with climate change?
- does not the data shown in Al Gore's film, illustrating carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere, follow temperature rises and not the other way round?
- why has the earth not warmed since 1998?
- why have other planets warmed in the last 50 years (Mars for instance) where there is no CO2 in the atmosphere?
- why are the thousands of highly qualified scientists who do not accept the man made global warming theory, like the famous Professor David Bellamy, not given air time on the BBC?
The government raised £17 billion pounds in 'Green' taxes last year. Where does it go?
Help me please if you can.
