Examiner, we learn that, although enormous energy is contained in U.S. oil-shale formations (measured in the equivalent of billions of barrels of oil it is far greater than the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia — in fact more than a trillion barrels, 80 percent of it presently recoverable), the reliably extreme Center for Biological Diversity, joined by sypathetic green groups, is trying to use the Endangered Species Act to block our ability to access these domestic energy resources.
