More Seattle snow
Waiting for Metro, we can build a snowman
and pretend our bus is gonna come
and watch the hard-packed surface get the sandman
which works for 15 minutes, and then some!
...
Instead of school, we will build a snowman
while the ambulances slip and slide
We'll feel so grateful when our hero Firefighters
reach any streets the city happened to plough with pride

SNOMAGEDDON – A columnist’s Diary of Survival, Part Two.

It’s time we all stopped kidding ourselves. This is no ordinary winter.

...The letters are so mean-spirited and in total opposition to fostering a postive and cohesive community that it’s a wonder the Spokesman prints them at all.
So many of the letters engage in name-calling and are so obviously disrespectful toward certain members of the community. The disdain for environmentalists, Democrats and liberals is especially blatant, and that disdain extends to issues that these groups find important.
The issue of climate change seems to be a favorite target for derision. The fact that temperatures drop below freezing and snow blankets the ground is seen by some as proof postive that climate change is a hoax. Climate change is real and we ignore it at our peril.
