The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, whose efforts have just earned it the Nobel Peace Prize, has affirmed that global warming and concentration of greenhouse gases are indeed linked to human activities. We all have discovered for ourselves more prolonged droughts, heatwaves, flash floods and rising sea levels. If global warming progresses without being appropriately dealt with, many parts of our shores risk being flooded and eventually disappear, and our farmlands lost forever. With the clock continuing to tick, we need to move fast and act before climate change turns into a climate crisis.
