Reporter's Notebook: First inaugural ball a tad disappointing
WASHINGTON – My first inaugural ball experience here turned out to be somewhat of a flop.

I had applied a month or so ago for media credentials to cover the first-ever Green Inaugural Ball, having read online that Nobel Prize winner and former Vice President Al Gore was its honorary chairman.

The Gulf breeze tonight has a chance of bringing in snow flurries north of Tampa for the first time since 1977.

Sunday night we were supposed to go to the inaugural concert (featuring Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce and U2), but couldn't because of the snow.

Right now, we're at the University of Maryland with (former) Vice President Al Gore. He told us to set our sights on a goal and to learn from observations we make through life.
