Texas State of the State:  Gov. Perry fails to mention The Most Important Issue Ever
Texas is the largest emitter of global warming gases in the largest emitting nation in the world. Perry is noticeably absent on talks for measures to address climate change.

The governor didn't mention global warming. He said Texas' "strength in petrochemical production" makes the state a target of "an increasingly activist EPA" that punishes states for non-attainment of air quality standards. He suggested encouraging alternative energy, including a $5,000 incentive for Texans in non-attainment areas to buy plug-in hybrid electric cars.

The Reference Frame: Balling, Michaels: Climate of Extremes
I received a book by Patrick Michaels and Robert Balling Jr, "Climate of Extremes". It is a very nice book that is crowded with graphs and information.

At the beginning, Michaels announces that he will have to leave his school in June 2009 because the current conditions don't allow him to keep both his scientific integrity and the funding. You will find some embarrassing quotes by leading IPCC scientists and Al Gore. But then the real book begins...
