UK: More rats in homes due to cold weather
THE freezing weather conditions have led to an increase in rats entering people's homes in a Suffolk town.
NC Media Watch: Global warming at the Presidential Inauguration?
My guess is that on Tuesday the 20th Inauguration Day, all the participants are going to be wishing they had some of Al Gore's global warming, fake or not.
UK: The day the sea froze (and the cold shut down an ice cream factory) - mirror.co.uk
It's not often you can take your dogs for a walk on the sea...

But things got so cold yesterday that this stretch of coastline at Sandbanks in Poole, Dorset, froze over as the big chill refused to loosen its grip on Britain.

Locals said it was the first time it had happened since 1963, although there was a partial freezing of the sea in 1991.

Temperatures plummet to almost - 12 in some parts of the country making it chillier than Iceland and Greenland, and bringing with it the usual chaos on roads as cars crashed on the ice or broke down.

And the freezing weather claimed its oddest victim yet when a factory in Dartmoor, Devon, had to stop making ice cream - because it was too cold.
