Maybe Grandma and Grandpa shouldn't turn down the thermostat too far: Cold weather sends blood pressure among 65-year-olds soaring
The researchers regularly measured the early morning blood pressure of nearly 9,000 people over the age of 65 over a two-year period. The increased blood pressure in the cold months occurred among participants in the study who spent the entire night in their homes.

A good portion of the turbine was paid for by a $250,000 grant from the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust branch of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. Another $200,000 came from an appropriation from the 2008 Massachusetts Energy Bill.
