American Thinker: Obama delays signing 'urgent' stimulus for fossil-fueled jaunt to Chicago

After telling the nation it was so urgent to pass the stimulus bill there was no time to even read it, President Obama took off for Chicago with wife Michelle, to dine at a fancy Chicago restaurant and spend the night at home in Hyde Park for Valentine's Day. The Bill will just have to wait for him to sign it next Tuesday.

Surveys in Devon and Cornwall - traditionally the counties with the earliest blooms - have revealed a 60 per cent decrease in flowering plants.

The annual National Trust flower count of its gardens in the two counties shows that the Sub-Mediterranean species which thrive in the South West's milder climate have been hard-hit by the recent cold weather.

The two counties are the only ones covered by the National Trust's flower count.

It was introduced in 2006, because the Trust noticed that flowers were blooming earlier, and wanted to monitor flowers and climate change.
