I have searching here and there (well, not "here" before this) for these answers (quoting other places):

I don't have a mental picture of the facts here.

1. I assume there is some truth to the cleanliness issues, so I'll grant those points without further discussion.

2. At current prices, which is the cheaper/BTU? Is that a significant difference? (Gas versus coal)

3. Can gas be transported as cheaply as oil or coal?

4. What kind of reserves in gas do we have?

5. Are we looking at a return to the gasification of coal and cracking of oil? How much will that cost (in dollars, and in tons of pollutants)?
