The most frightening panel was the last panel of the day moderated by Chris Horn. It had an MP (Roger Helmer from the European Parliament ( a Tory and a eurosceptic) )and two others who spoke of the disaster that is the EU cap and trade system. The Spanish government has institued a wacky program where wind and solar power have huge subsidies that have made the energy sector behave like a huge ponzi scheme. The EU cap and trade is costing huge amounts of money and has almost completely collapsed. The EU wants to the US , India and canada involved to save their failing system. HM Canadian government should be very wary of this craziness.

I finally got to hear President Vaclav Klaus of the Czech Republic. President Klaus gave a great speech where he spoke of the political nature of the warmist movement and the similarity it had to the controlling ways of communism. President Klaus is not so optimistic. he feels we are hearing the same chicken little alarmism and vast sums are still being spent for nothing.
