Mr. Fludder also foresees growth potential in carbon capture and storage technologies, as well as nuclear power.

...it's hard not to sympathize with the global warming skeptics who count the shiver factor as a significant data set.

It's hard not to, with the forsythia telling us it's Tri-City cooling vs. global warming these days, and cooling is winning.

Forsythia?

Right, we're talking about that gorgeous plant that usually erupts in a profusion of yellow around here the first week of March.

But:

"We don't usually get 19-degree temperatures around here on the 17th of March," said Alex Job of Job's Nursery.

He says the forsythia he's seen are just now thinking about blooming, but that it is not the only plant that's late. Pretty much everything is a couple of weeks behind, it seems.
