Hurray for former senator Harrison Schmitt and now Seymour Merrin for speaking out in an objective, scientific voice about the issue of anthropogenic global warming. As a geologist, I too know that the current hype around man's role in recent warming is far overblown and does not fit the many millions of years of scientific facts in the Earth's highly variable climate history.

The evidence from the Earth's climate history invalidates any hypothesis that states man is the primary cause because there are mountains of evidence pointing to natural forces at work, not man.
