Is it prudent to spend $2 billion on a "hoax"?
Obama and the federal and Alberta governments are grasping at the straw of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. No less a person than Prime Minister Stephen Harper's closest confidante and former political strategist, Tom Flanagan, has called CCS "a hoax." Still, he says, Alberta should spend the planned $2 billion on CCS technology because, "from the point of view of doing business" Alberta can't afford not to.
