March 26: Renewable energy schemes are flawed - Northampton Chronicle and Echo
Global warming has allowed the green groups to oppose any power stations whether gas, coal or nuclear and to take a high moral position in peddling their opinions that all that needs to take place to prevent global warming is for us all to economise.

There are some doubts, of course, that global warming may not be happening at all, or is much less than at first thought...

"Adaptation is at present unnecessary," said Lord Monckton at the hearing. "Mitigation is always unnecessary. It is also disproportionately expensive.

But here’s yet one more thing warming worriers will tomorrow prove—how little they care about facts.

...the event could cause higher overall pollution than if we just left our lights on. When asked to extinguish electricity, people turn to candlelight. Candles seem natural, but are almost 100 times less efficient than incandescent light globes, and more than 300 times less efficient than fluorescent lights. If you use one candle for each extinguished globe, you're essentially not cutting CO2 at all, and with two candles you'll emit more CO2. Moreover, candles produce indoor air pollution 10 to 100 times the level of pollution caused by all cars, industry and electricity production.

The solar panels on the roof ceased to function long ago, crusted over with rain-caked dust. The electric wires to the cabin had long since blown to the ground by the incessant wind. But alas, it was no matter because the generators that once brought electricity to the most powerful nation on earth, had fallen silent. The radical environmentalists and the socialists of the early twenty-first century had their way and sent us back to the dark ages. Government-instituted, insane cap and trade policies to drop CO2 levels in order to stop or slow down the non-existent problem of man-caused global warming, drove prices of everything through the roof and millions of businesses went out of business and the jobs went with them.
