Metro - U.S. foe of Canada's 'dirty oil' makes no mention of oilsands in Prentice talks
The fact that the subject of the oilsands barely came up - particularly in meetings with Henry Waxman, the Democratic chairman of the House energy and commerce committee - came as something of a surprise.

Waxman, after all, once proposed to ban the U.S. purchase of what he has christened "dirty" fuels, including oil from the controversial but economically vital tarsands operations of northern Alberta.
...
Prentice's visit to Washington came on the heels of a Canadian Press Harris-Decima poll that found most Canadians outside Quebec have made their peace with Alberta's oilsands.

Fifty-seven per cent of respondents said there are more benefits than drawbacks to the oilsands, while 35 per cent reported the reverse.

It won’t be long before climate change acolytes caterwaul their accusations of fraud and construct bizarrely intricate conspiracy theories involving the oil companies, Halliburton, fembots, the Bilderbergers and, of course, the infernal Joooos (no conspiracy theory would be complete without them) to explain a recent determination by the California Air Resources Board that - sit down for this - petroleum based fuels have a smaller carbon footprint than ethanol or other biofuels.
