Nice Minneapolis Star Tribune headline: "Gallup: Global warming skepticism growing in U.S."
Dr. Don Easterbrook’s Letter to Andy Revkin, New York Times Story
More Americans are skeptical about the seriousness of global warming than ever before, according to a survey released this week by the Gallup organization.Speaking of the Twin Cities, yesterday's high of 8 degrees F fell only 53 degrees short of the 61 degrees reached in 1902, the year before those damn Wright brothers destroyed the planet with their planet-frying flying machines.

...take a look at the attached satellite image of March 9, 2009 and compare it to the satellite image of June, 2008. Notice that cool water in the Pacific that extends from the equator all the way up the west coast of North America into the Gulf of Alaska is still firmly entrenched. This is the cool water phase of the PDO and it isn’t going to change for at least 2-3 decades (at least it never has in the past)and it is unaffected by atmospheric CO2 as shown by the three PDO switches this century that occurred before atmospheric CO2 increased significantly. What this means is that no matter what the cause of global warming and cooling, we cannot escape the conclusion that the Earth is in for global cooling for the next 2-3 decades and will bring increasing energy and resource demands at a time of rapidly escalating population growth.Video: Bill Clinton doesn’t understand human biology? - OT
This may be the stupidest thing I’ve heard since Phil Donohue and Vladimir Posner tried arguing a few years back that human embryos become fish and dogs before becoming humans. (Yes, they did; I watched it with my jaw trailing the floor.) Unfertilized eggs have no research value in stem cell work because they don’t produce anything; they’re genetically incomplete. Only after fertilization does an egg become an embryo. Nor is Clinton simply making a momentary mis-speak; he repeats this no less than six times in this interview with Sanjay Gupta.
And note that Gupta — a physician who was Barack Obama’s first choice as Surgeon General — never bothers to correct Clinton. Did Gupta miss that lesson in pre-med?
