7:15 At breakfast, James Taylor thanks James Hansen, Al Gore, Michael Mann, and Gavin Schmidt for accepting invitations to the conference and publicly defending their claims...but Taylor then remembered that none of these folks showed up again this year
7:30 California US Congressman Tom McClintock is giving a great talk--he mentions that he discovered climate change as an elementary student bain the 1960s, when he learned about mammoths and dinosaurs at a trip to a museum. He never won a Nobel Prize, however, and only later learned that his teacher had failed to even nominate him.
7:50 Watch the morning session live at The Climate Scam
7:54 Canadian author and columnist Lawrence Solomon (author of The Deniers) is now up. Kyoto has emerged as the single biggest destroyer of the environment. Solomon mentioned a Canadian poll that showed when people hear a couple of times that there is doubt about global warming science, they become skeptics. He said this explained why only 11% of Czechs are global warming believers (since Czechs have been exposed to climate realism from Vaclav Klaus).
8:58 Alexandre Aguiar now presenting in track 3 of four simultaneous conference tracks. He is a partner and Communications Director at MetSul Weather Center, a private weather and climate consulting company located in Sao Leopoldo, State of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. MetSul is one of the few voices today in Brazil to publish articles and reports countering global warming alarmism. [Note that the full conference program is available here.]
He points out correlations between low sunspot activity and cold winters, also talks about a strong Urban Heat Island effect.
9:25 Craig Idso of CO2 Science says coral calcification appears to increase with warming, rather than decrease.
