Tough winter for Minnesota fish
Fish kills are natural occurrences during Minnesota winters. The MnDNR expects widespread winter fish kills throughout the state due to the extreme cold and persistent snow cover this year.

I got a “post card” over the weekend from one participant, Nina Fedoroff, the science and technology adviser to the secretary of state and head of the United States Agency for International Development.
From Co2-hysteric Fedoroff's post card:
No matter whose projections, no matter whether the best, worst or most probable scenario, our crops will suffer – and I mean OUR crops, not just those in some distant land.
1. But there was some warming in the 20th century--where's the evidence of reduced global food production?

2. Why wouldn't more atmospheric plant food be good for crops?

3. Why wouldn't warmer temperatures be a net positive for global food production, as we could farm closer to the poles, with longer growing seasons and fewer killing frosts?
