Arkansas : Late Freeze Threatens Fruit Crop
SPRINGDALE — A cold snap that hit the area late Sunday has put the region's entire fruit crop in jeopardy as temperatures were predicted to drop below freezing Monday evening into early today, according to Elena Garcia, horticulture research specialist at the University of Arkansas.

"I anticipate there will be damage to this year's fruit crop. The extent of that damage is still unknown," Garcia said.

As much as $3 million in local fruit production hinges on just how far the mercury drops early today, experts said.
Jennifer Marohasy » Wilkins Ice Shelf Collapse
GIVEN it is still really cold at the Antarctic, is it really very scientific to blame global warming for the likely collapse of the Wilkins Ice Shelf? Plan to introduce [climate scam levy]
AIRLINE passengers may be asked to pay a special £5 tax to help the poorest nations cope with climate change.

The surcharge would raise about £6.8billion a year and help developing countries worst affected.

It would increase the price of a long haul fare by one per cent but add another £44 to a first class ticket.
