Can Obama bring change without a crisis?
The president sold his hurry-up stimulus plan as a reaction to a crisis. But lawmakers who went along were later burned by a loophole that allowed bonuses for American International Group executives. The plan also racked up debts big enough to help send people into the streets on tax day, and has so far been slow to deliver any stimulation beyond keeping spendthrift local governments afloat.

Those lessons will be remembered as the president attempts to sell his plans for global warming, health care and paying the bill for the failures of General Motors and Chrysler.
STEVEN MILLOY: Al Gore Lies to Congress « FOX Forum « FOXNews.com
...There you have it. Al Gore flatly denying that he had interests with Goldman Sachs — when, clearly, he did.

The irony is that during Gore’s exchange with Rep. Scalise, he accused the fossil fuel industry of lying to Scalise and the American people for 14 years about the science of global warming. As it turns out, the part of the fossil fuel industry that lied to Rep. Scalise and the American people was none other than Terralliance-investor Al Gore himself.

Todd Stern, the U.S. special envoy for climate change, declined to specify what the United States needs to bring to Copenhagen in December to demonstrate U.S. leadership, but noted the Obama administration's approach differs markedly from that of the Bush team.

"They were not fundamentally looking for an international agreement," Stern said. "We are looking for an international agreement, and we're looking for cooperation at a significant, we hope, transformative level."
The Copenhagen global climate [scam] agreement is supposed to be wrapped up in less than 8 months.  If you're going to claim to be the "leader", isn't it past time to get specific?
