Climate Change – How it is a Win / Win @ Jacob Santos
Anyway, the point of global warming is to freak people the hell out to get them into action. I think Al Gore fully believes that the Bullshit he puts out is justified by the actions millions of people are going to take because of it. If he was actually honest and shown that parts of the USA wouldn’t be flooded by 2100, then people wouldn’t give a shit. Which the study being conducted in the article shows. When you give facts, well, people could care less, because it doesn’t affect them or people around them.South Bend: While it may look like they're just riding bicycles, they're actually saving the planet
The Bike Michiana Coalition will be represented on South Bend’s new “Green Ribbon Commission”, an effort by Mayor Steve Luecke and the City to “reduce energy usage, trim costs, beautify the city and help save the planet.” BMC president Jeff Nixa was invited by the Mayor to represent the local cycling community. South Bend’s new bicycle coordinator, Chris Dressel, will also be serving on the commission.Al Gore, that creepy older guy who's scaring our children: "No Kidding, One in Three Children Fear Earth Apocalypse" : TreeHugger
This policy/advisory group is a follow-through on Mayor Luecke’s signing of the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement, committing S. Bend to become one of the nation’s “Cool Cities,” reducing the causes of global warming in line with the Kyoto Protocol.
There's a new bogeyman lurking in the closet, and this one isn't imaginary. Us. One out of three children aged 6 to 11 fears that Ma Earth won't exist when they grow up, while more than half—56 percent—worry that the planet will be a blasted heath (or at least a very unpleasant place to live), according to a new survey.
Commissioned by Habitat Heroes and conducted by Opinion Research, the telephone survey polled a national sample of 500 American preteens—250 males and 250 females.
On a sliding scale of anxieties, minority kids have it worst; 75 percent of black children and 65 percent of Hispanic children believe that the planet will be irrevocably damaged by the time they reach adulthood.
