Jacksonville, Florida sets April 8 record low for second time in three years
Gainesville reached a record low overnight, but the temperature stayed above freezing in both Gainesville and Ocala. Some outlying areas, for example Cross City, did dip below freezing for an hour or more overnight.

According to the National Weather Service office in Jacksonville, the temperature dipped to 34 degrees at 7 a.m., one degree colder than the record low of 35 set on this date in 2007.
