In 2008, only 39 percent of Americans surveyed think that most natural scientists agree that global warming exists. Krosnick argued the media's inclusion of global warming skeptics in reports on the phenomenon led the public to believe scientists disagreed on the issue. By reporting less balanced stories, the public would be better informed, he said.
