Have the alarmists lost Sen. Judd Gregg?
Sen. Judd Gregg has long been a leader in supporting responsible action to address the dangerous impacts of climate change. He was among a handful of Republicans to vote for climate cap-and-trade legislation as early as 2003. However, Senator Gregg recently wrote an op-ed published in several New Hampshire newspapers describing proposed cap-and-trade legislation as "a massive new national sales tax ...; that averages over $3,000 per household." This is just plain wrong, and the record must be corrected.Go slow on enacting global warming regs - Opinion - The Modesto Bee
Assemblyman Bill Berryhill, R-Ceres, has signed on as a co-author of SB 295. He says his goal is not to gut AB 32 but to slow it down so that the rules don't end up eliminating jobs in a state where the unemployment rate has hit 11 percent. Furthermore, he believes the technology is close to being able to achieve many of the greenhouse gas reduction goals.Science group has political agenda | News-Leader.com | Springfield News-Leader

The Global Warming Solutions Act is admirable, but the solutions must be achieved without crushing the fragile budgets of businesses, farmers and local governments.
The hysteria of this made-up dilemma is to add $2 trillion in taxes on you and us, the consumers, who can't afford it. When they tax our coal energy plant for carbon, since they can't print money, they have to pass it on to us as increased rates. Are you ready to go back to the stone age and live by candlelight and hand fans? We really need more informative journalism and leadership if we want to preserve our standard of living.
