Despite laying off nearly 2000 employees Vestas stocks jumped several points after the company announced its results in the first quarter report

Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas announced today that it will maintain its financial forecast for 2009 but will lay off 1,900 employees in northern Europe.

Democrats have been pushing this issue so hard for several years now that they cannot back away, not even a little bit. There is no way for them to allow critics to voice concerns - they have told Americans (and world citizens in general) that the end is nigh, that we have to do something now or we will destroy ourselves.

Meanwhile, the American public is becoming increasingly critical of the global warming thesis because scientists who disagree with it have been able to speak out publicly - at Fox, major newspapers, blogs, and so on. Voters realize that Democrats are playing a dirty political game: this is not about global warming, it is about far-left politics. They use global warming - which I believe to be real, even though I believe it is difficult to assess how much humans contribute to it - as a pretext for bills and plans they have cherished for years, decades even.
