( OLYMPIA ) – The House has passed a greenhouse gas emission reduction bill that doesn’t include the controversial cap and trade system. It’s designed to begin efforts to reduce emissions blamed for causing climate change. Opponents like Cardinal Glass argued it would hurt business by making them less competitive. The cap and trade system was watered down after lawmakers appeared uneasy about new industrial regulations when the economy is in troubled waters.
