Interesting Developments on Cap and Trade « the Air Vent
Aside from your own political leanings, the honest must recognize that the liberal democrats have been planning the climate coup for some time now. We’ve seen the placement of extreme leftists and replacement of reasonable moderates at the highest positioins of office, Pelosi, waxmen, Chu and many others. The current climate bill is far reaching, stretching beyond simple cap and trade including other extremist items such as; a renewable electricity standard; a low-carbon fuel standard; a broader renewable fuels policy; new efficiency standards. All things our socialist president will happily support but the legislation is so left that moderate Democrats (required to go along with the leadership to get their own projects recognized) are reacting against it.
Skeptic's Corner: The Catlin Arctic fraud
And just why is a global warming advocacy group such as WWF International teaming up with an insurance company to push through a global warming accord? Here's what WWF International says on their website.
The Catlin Arctic Survey will form an essential part of WWF’s work to protect the Arctic, raising awareness around the world about the plight of the Arctic, the impact of climate change, and the need to secure radical CO2 emission reductions.
What it all comes down to is this: Catlin is financing a WWF International inspired public stunt to prove global warming so they can present the data obtained to pass an internationally binding and monetarily punishable greenhouse gas emissions reduction accord aimed at western nations, particularly the United States, despite China projected to emit three times the amount of CO2 than the US by 2020 based on current trends.
United unveils carbon [scam] offsets, but are they worth it? - This Just In - Budget Travel
United Airlines has added a service to its website (united.com/carbonoffset) that promises to compensate for your share of carbon dioxide that your flight spews out during your trip. Says a United spokesperson, "An offset for travel from Tampa Bay to Chicago may be available for a contribution as low as $2.05."

You make a tax-deductible donation to an eco-friendly program run by Sustainable Travel International in partnership with Conservation International, notes the Chicago Tribune.
