Maryland Governor O'Malley leans heavily on the climate scam
"Sustainability, particularly in terms of stabilizing and reversing Global Climate Change before it is too late, may very well prove to be the defining economic, environmental, and moral issue of our times," said Governor O'Malley. "One of the boldest, most innovative, most forward-looking parts of the President and Vice President's vision for economic recovery and reinvestment, is their belief that we can fuel our country's economic engine by revolutionizing the way we fuel our cars, trucks, buses, trains and airplanes..."

Total cost of the package: just shy of $30,000. But in Pennsylvania, where the setup was installed, Federal and state solar tax credits would reduce that price by $3,770, according to the HTSA’s executive director, Richard Glikes.

The “Guiltless Green” moniker is a conceit; the solar panels don’t power the home theater system directly. Rather, the organization simply chose a number of panels that was both affordable and would supply enough power to run the setup. As always, the gear is plugged directly into the home electrical system.

Mr. Glikes says that if you never ran the home theater system, the panels would pay for themselves in 3 1/2 years by feeding power back to the grid. Meanwhile, solar panel prices are expected to drop over time. For most consumers, buying a large Energy-Star-rated TV sounds like a more practical solution. And think about how much less carbon you’ll be using by eschewing all the extra add-ons.
If solar panels really pay for themselves in 3.5 years, let's drop all solar subsidies immediately and watch as private capital rushes to take advantage of this wonderful investment return.
