Newsmax.com - Despite Earth Day, We May Need Greenhouse Gases
The plunge in sunspots could herald the end of a century or so of higher-than-usual solar output and the start of 900 years of severely colder climate. If so, our salvation could be in the very greenhouse gases leftists are rushing to banish and make the target of lawsuits by their lawyer comrades.
House panel probes climate bill's downsides
Representatives of electric utilities, unions and other energy-intensive industries were to appear before a House subcommittee hearing Thursday to discuss ways to craft a bill so it protects consumers from higher electricity rates. They also will advise the panel how the U.S. can keep manufacturing jobs and its competitiveness when other countries will not be paying the extra costs to limit the greenhouse gas emissions blamed for climate change.

These two issues loomed over the first two days of hearings this week. They also represent significant stumbling blocks for Democratic lawmakers and the Obama administration, which both want to pass global warming and energy legislation this year.
Prometheus » Blog Archive » A Letter from the UK Parliament
The full letter from Mr. Lilley to Ed Miliband can be found below. But I do want to highlight one passage in particular:
I support sensible measures to reduce CO2 emissions, economise on hydrocarbon use and help the poorest countries adapt to adverse climate change whatever it cause – as long as the measures we adopt are sensible and cost effective. But we cannot judge what is sensible and cost effective if we do not have reliable figures, and subject them to proper parliamentary scrutiny.

When the Department slips out figures which it appears to be unable to explain, unwilling to debate and which are so flaky they vary by a factor of ten - it can only provoke scepticism.
News Hounds: In Honor Of Earth Day, Cavuto Attacks [Global Warming Fraud]
On yesterday's (4/22/09) Your World, Neil Cavuto called combating global warming "chasing a ghost that might not be real." He interviewed interrupted guest Dan Weiss of the Center for American Progress. When Weiss refused to capitulate to Cavuto's unfounded accusations that a) global warming has not been proven and b) environmental solutions will cost too much money, Cavuto ended the interview with frustration. With video.

Cavuto, showing his obvious preference for dealing with climate change asked, "What if we did nothing, Dan?”
