Or what if, even more dramatically, you believe the entire global warming hysteria is a tad exaggerated, that the science is speculative at best, and that sustainability is just the latest meaningless buzz-word that's going to cost the tax-payers a ton of money before anyone even figures out what they want it to mean.

WARMING WARNING: On a more somber subject, climate change - the opposite of carnivals - is the subject of Tuesday evening's book signing and lecture by Stephen Faris at the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Faris will speak about his latest book, "Forecast: The Consequences of Climate Change, from the Amazon to the Arctic, from Darfur to Napa Valley." The author, who has written about the environment and the developing world for Time, Fortune, the Atlantic Monthly, the New York Times and others, says there is a growing concern that climate change is linked to an increase in violence in the world, which means we not only have to go switch over to energy-saving lightbulbs, we have to have world peace, too.
