Texas Voters: We ♥ Free Renewables - Environmental Capital - WSJ
Asked if they favor requiring a certain amount of electricity be generated from solar power, 61% said they were in favor. “Support for the requirement is lower, but still a majority (53%) when respondents learn that this requirement could increase their household electric bill by two to three dollars per month,” Mr. Baselice wrote in a memo summarizing the poll results. The opposition number rose from 30% to 43% when the cost was added to the question.

So, support drops over the cost of a Starbucks latte. No wonder there is such a huge fight over what cap-and-trade legislation would cost.

SF Environmental Policy Examiner: Is Global Warming the right problem to address?
There are 104 commercial power reactors in the United States. We haven't built one in 30 years.

The real problems are staring us in the face. We don't need to be distracted by global warming. President Obama's energy program addresses our real problems. I don't know why he needs to wrap it in the tinsel package of addressing climate change, alienating Republicans and annoying independents and Democrats like myself.
SF Environmental Policy Examiner: Global warming and swine flu (2)
What has stopped malaria is wealthier people funding better health systems. It's got nothing to do with the climate. Remember that when the blame game starts for swine flu. It started in a poor part of a poor country. Mexico, most sadly, is where most of the deaths have occurred. It's all about the money.
