U.S. Climate [Fraud] Bill Falls Short, German Official Warns - Washington Wire - WSJ
Germany’s environment minister, Sigmar Gabriel, gave a poor grade to the U.S. Congress’s leading proposal to curb America’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Unless the U.S. pushes for deeper, faster cuts in emissions of such gases, “it will be very difficult” for the country to meet the longer run goal of cutting emissions by the amounts needed to stabilize the climate, he said Monday night.
Dorgan May be Obama’s Stumbling Block in Senate | The New Ledger
Red state Democrat Byron Dorgan may prove to be a thorn in the side of Obama and Senate Democrats as they work to institute sweeping change in the new administration. Dorgan is up for re-election in 2010 and in an effort to save his seat, has come out in opposition to several measures heavily supported by his Senate Democrat colleagues including the upcoming cap-and-trade legislation.
