UK: Ice on bike paths hinders response to global warming scam

Many respondents to the survey reported having near-misses in terms of accidents, with a significant proportion either having been involved in an accident, or knowing someone who had, as a result of ice on frequently used paths.

The council gives priority for gritting to "maintaining safe driving conditions on an agreed network of roads, which will normally include all busy roads".

As a result of that priority, many footpaths and cycle paths remained ungritted this year.

It’s a Funny Old World

Yet, in all this, there also lies a most pleasing irony: the very survival of the two newspapers that probably rant on more than any others against the so-called environmental ‘evils’ of the car is - wait for it - partly “dependent on second-hand car sales (it [the group] owns half of the normally highly profitable Auto Trader).” Isn’t that just wonderful! Think of it - Old Savonarola himself, George Monbiot, Sister Polly Toynbee, and Brother Robin Mackie are thus supported partly from the profits generated by a house journal of the petrol heads. I feel quite exhausted, clutching my stomach, with mirth.
