If It Makes People Believe, Is It Okay To Lie About Global Warming? | Gather
So what does all this melting, mud and erosion have to do with global warming?

Not a thing.

Coastal erosion is natural and has been happeing since the time of the glaciers, but the erosion in town is caused by something else entirely: European construction methods and land-use practices completely unsuited to polar regions.
Again, what's the COST of not throwing money at harebrained non-solutions for non-problems?
But if we're going to be honest about the economics here, then you have to assess not only the costs of doing something, but also of doing nothing. And if you're going to argue against reforms, then you have to argue why the consequences of inaction are a preferable outcome, not merely why action might prove expensive or uncertain. Choosing the status quo is, after all, a choice.
Grading Google's carbon neutral claims | Green Tech - CNET News
Google has reached its goal of becoming carbon neutral for 2007 and is almost entirely neutral for 2008, Google's Green Energy Czar Bill Weihl announced on the official Google blog Wednesday evening.
Official Google Blog: Reducing our carbon footprint [How much cash has Google spent on carbon rip-offsets?]
In June 2007 Google made a voluntary commitment to become carbon neutral. To honor this commitment, we calculated our global carbon footprint, purchased high-quality carbon offsets, and worked with a third party to certify our calculations and validate our offset portfolio. Through this process, we've neutralized all of Google's 2007 emissions, as well as part of our 2008 emissions. We'll continue to invest in offset projects until we reach carbon neutrality.
