May 18 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama will announce new vehicle-emission rules tomorrow, setting the first-ever nationwide limit on greenhouse-gas pollution from autos, people familiar with the plan said.

Compare the electricity consumption of lightbulbs to electric cars - it's ridiculous to even mention lightbulbs, while electric cars will need a thousand times more power.
Yet they are already banning standard lightbulbs in many countries! How long will anyone be allowed to have even an electric powered minicar? Sooner or later you will have to apply for permits to travel by car, and unless you have a very good justification for not riding a bus, your car is going nowhere.
