Fruit tree blossoms are finally coming on scene! This self-pollinating Evans cherry tree is loaded with flowers that beckon bees. The inset shows a branch from Westcot apricot. Note the similarity in blossom appearance.

The end of May is the latest I’ve ever seen a prairie grown apricot tree flower. Cherry trees are dragging behind too. Normally, apricot trees come into bloom much earlier and if they get nipped by frost, fruit quality and quantity are compromised.
