Wind Welfare Queens - Chris Horner - Planet Gore on National Review Online
The welfare queens over at the American Wind Energy Association have issued a statement complaining that the "renewable energy standard" in the Waxman-Markey energy rationing bill isn't enough and it will cause these jobs that President Obama promised can't be outsourced to, uh, go to Europe or Asia (yep, their actual claim).
...
So, apparently when you're on the dole it is cruel and unusual punishment to stick you with just free basic cable; you need the premium package or you're moving to Asia. Sad lot.
Cash-for-Clunkers: More Sniping at Car-Scrappage Plan - Environmental Capital - WSJ
In a legislative session with no shortage of contenders, the cash-for-clunkers proposal is becoming the Rodney Dangerfield of new laws. Nobody seems happy with the House’s plan to offer rebates of up to $4,500 for trading in old cars for new ones.
Addressing Climate Change Is a Job for Congress - washingtonpost.com
The work on this bill is far from done, and the debate on the House floor promises to be spirited, as it should be. We continue to hope that Congress will consider a simpler carbon tax rebated to all taxpayers or less bureaucratic versions of cap-and-trade, such as that proposed by Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.). But it's encouraging that lawmakers are undertaking to meet the challenges of climate change. The responsibility is theirs, not that of unelected bureaucrats using laws far beyond their intended purpose.

The only "good" thing about a carbon tax instead of cap&trade ist that it is explicitly a "tax" so more people might realize what's being done to them.

But in the end a carbon tax is the same thing: a tax on the air, and like all other taxes, it will never ever be repealed, but instead get regular rate increases.

So for all the people who think Nader and Exxon's CEO are great in promoting a carbon tax over capt&trade, better think twice.

The only REAL answer is: Why do we need to do anything at all?? Who decided on our behalf there HAS to be a bill passed to limit CO2?? Why can't we go on as before??? Why?
